It was the battle of undefeated teams with Moorestown ranked #1 and Summit #2. If you weren't there you missed a very exciting afternoon. Liza Hillenbrand scored quickly for Summit, less than a minute into the game. However, Moorestown showed they could score quickly by scoring twice in the next 3 minutes to grab the lead. Over the final 16 minutes of the 1st half Summit managed five unanswered goals to leave the field at the half up 6-2. In that stretch there were two goals apeice by Cristina Curiale and Hillenbrand and one by Lydia Robinson. Summit played a tough swarming defense that really stymied Moorestown.

The 2nd half began badly as Moorestown took the opening face-off and scored 16 seconds into the half. To make matters worse they grabbed the next face-off and scored again 22 seconds later to make the score 6-4. Erin Beaumont got the lead back to 3 when she score with about 21 minutes left. But Moorestown wouldn't quit. They took the face-off and scored in 21 seconds. Moorestown scored again with 16-1/2 minutes still to play to make it a one goal game. For the next 15 minutes Summit was mostly back on defense trying to ward off the tying goal. During that time Summit seemed unable to mount a serious scoring effort. Then with only about a minute left Alie Carey worked herself free and scored a crucial insurance goal. But it wasn't over yet. Moorestown pressed furiously and Odette Nemes stopped what looked like a sure goal. But she apparently fouled because the Referee gave Moorestown a free shot on an open net. Miraculously a Summit player managed to deflect the shot and after about 20 more seconds of furious defensive effort Summit came out on top.

Hillenbrand led the scoring with three goals. Curiale had two goals and Robinson, Beaumont and Carey each scored once.
