There isn't much to say about this game that was halted after 5 innings by the "10 Run Rule". Mike D'Ecclessis got his first start on a cold and very windy day at Mendham. For whatever reason, D'Ecclessis was never able to get on track. Rob Delgado pitched the 4th inning and managed to escape with only giving up 2 runs. Even if the Summit pitching had been on track it would have been hard to beat Mendham's Sanborn who appeared to be at the top of his game. The only Summit shot that might of been called a hit was struck by Ryan Carey in the 1st inning. The ball, inexplicably, went right under the shortstop's glove into left center field. There was some animated discussion as to whether it was a hit or an error. The majority agreed on a hit.
