What Summit hoped would be a fairly easy victory, was anything but easy. Summit fortunately came through with another of its 4th quarter rallies to pull out the win. Mt. Olive, led by Eric Stein's 19 1st half points, took a 26-25 lead into half time and continued to lead early in the 4th quarter by the score of 38-37. But a basket by Gerano Tan and another by Ryan Carey gave Summit a 3 point lead, its largest of the game. Mt. Olive got back to within 1 point on a hoop by Stein. Fortunately, Kurt Forsyth drained a 3 pointer, Ted Schrafft hit a free throw and Tan sank 2 more FTs and suddenly Summit had a 9 point lead. Down the stretch MO was forced to foul and Summit hit 5 of their 6 attempts to cap a 21 point 4th quarter. In the final quarter Tan scored 8 of his 14 points, Carey 7 of his game high 18 points, and Forsyth contributed 5 of his 15 points.

Summit hit 22 of it 48 shots for a 46% night and continued its recent fine shooting from the foul line as it hit 11 of 14 (8 of 10 in the final quarter).

Summit romped to an easy victory behind the scoring of Alex Sprinzen (16 points)and Dan McGaw (12 points). It really was "no contest" as The Summit defense limited Mt. Olive to 4 field goals in the 1st half and left the court with a 40-15 lead. The game was not as close as the final score would indicate. It is noteworthy that 11 Summit players managed to get on the scoreboard.
