Summit got a major scare when they blew a 9 point 1st
quarter lead and then struggled to finally beat a 5-6 Hanover
Park team. The first quarter looked like it would be another
easy victory for 14th ranked Summit. Unfortunately, Hanover Park
dominated the 2nd quarter as they racked up 17 points , while
holding Summit to only six. The half finished with Hanover Park
ahead 27-25. Summit managed to tie the score at the end of the
3rd quarter. The score was still tied with only 3 minutes to
play when Danielle Proper sank 2 free throws to give Summit
a 47-45 lead. Karen Jann hit a layup with 1 minute left
to make it a 4 point lead. Summit hung on to finish 49-46.
Jann and Danielle Proper led the Summit scoring
with 11 points, while HP's Jen DeTrolio scored 27 points in a
losing cause. DeTrolio scored 11 points from the free throw line,
4 more than the entire Summit team. |
