After a fairly slow 1st quarter start Summit really turned up the defensive and offensive heat in the 2nd quarter to build a 34-12 lead. Karen Jann led the 1st half scoring with 9 points. Stephanie Bruce added 8 points and Liz Sheridan contributed seven. But it was really the defense that made the difference. Summit swarmed all over Madison and had them so baffled that it was 10 1/2 minutes into the half before they sank their first field goal. What's more, it was another 5 minutes before they managed to score their 2nd. For the entire game Madison was held to only 6 field goals as Summit won this one easily. Summit's bench played most of the 2nd half and continued to pile up both points and steals. Dana Proper had her best scoring night with 9 second half points. In addition to the regulars, freshman Alia Carey came up from JVs and scored 6 points in the final quarter. This was Summit Women's 3rd consecutive Suburban Classic championship

This was a heck of a game that was a lot closer than the final score would indicate. Kelly Suminski , with 35 points, provided all but 18 of Mendham's total. The game seemed over early when Mendham jumped to a 2-7 lead, but Summit stormed back to go ahead 10-7, and led 15-14 after the first quarter. Some sloppy passing hurt Summit, but their all-court defense forced a number of turnovers. Unfortunately, it also resulted in a lot of Summit fouls. Summit had 21 fouls called on it compared to only 9 for Mendham. The first half ended tied 25-25. Suminski took over in the 3rd quarter, scoring 4 baskets and 6 free throws to put Mendham up by 6 entering the final quarter. Summit didn't give up, and brought the score to 40-44 with only 2:06 remaining, but Mendham's foul shooting preserved the win. Karen Jann led the Summit scoring with 14 points.

Lauren Ertz hurt herself in a fall during practice and saw limited action. Katie Tully was injured in the third period and Danielle Proper fouled out with 6:05 remaining in the game. Summit shot 21 for 45 for 46%

The JV's lost 18-38
