It was a pleasure to see both the running and passing games firing on all cylinders, as Summit rushed for 236 yards and Keith Schroeder completed 8 of 9 for 221 yards and 3 TDs. At the same time the defense held Millburn to a total of 140 yards, only 38 yards on the ground. Summit scored on it first possession, going 64 yards in 10 plays, primarily on the running of John Martini and Mike Nelson. Following the next Summit possession a short punt gave Millburn the ball on Summit's 48. They managed their only score of the day as they completed a nine play drive that was highlighted by 4 completed passes. A 2-point conversion gave Millburn a short lived 8-7 lead. On the second play after Millburn's failed on-side kickoff Schroeder hit Billy Wheeler on a 49 yard pass play for the go ahead TD. The final score of the 1st half came on a drive that started at Summit's 28 and culminated in a 25 yard reverse play to Wheeler.

The second half continued to be all Summit as they scored on each of three possessions in the third quarter. Nelson scored on a 16 yard run, Jon Campagna scored in a 28 yard pass ( making up for the fact that an earlier TD pass to Campagna was nullified by a bogus clipping penalty) and Nelson scored on a 17 yard pass.

The 4th quarter featured the reserves quarterbacked by Chris Jones and Brad Olsen and also some nice running by Sophomores Nick Monaco, Dan McGaw and Sal Malleo.
