The season came to an end with a rainy Thanksgiving Day loss to Weequahic. Weequahic's running game was just too much for Summit who was never able to establish a running game of its own. Summit tried to stay in the game via the passing route as Keith Schroeder connected for 113 yards, but he was also sacked 4 times and under pressure many times. The Summit defense put up two outstanding goal line stands. On the opening drive Weequahic had a 1st and goal at the Summit 4 yard line, but the defense stopped them twice at the 1 yard line. Later in the 3rd quarter, with the score 8-0, Summit's defense again held Weequahic twice at the 1 yard line to keep Summit in the game. Unfortunately, Weequahic scored early in the 4th quarter to go up 16-0.

Mid-way thriough the 4th quarter Summit recovered a fumble and, after a penalty, had the ball on the Weequahic 45 yard line. A pass to Mike Nelson moved the ball to the 33. There, on 4th down, Jon Campagna made a great diving catch to pick up a 1st down at the Weequahic 16 and keep Summit's hopes alive. Two plays later Campagna made another difficult catch in the end zone for Summit's only score. The 2 point conversion failed. An on-side kick failed and Weequahic took over with good field position. Four plays later they put the game away on a 25 yard touchdown run.
