Sat 04/01 Kearny Relays A  
Thu 04/06 Mt. Olive H Lost - The meet that came down to the 4x400 relay, Mt. Olive was leading by 3 and the meet was going to be won or lost by the relay. Summit came out strong but just couldn't compete with Mt. Olive's speed and lost by 5 seconds to lose the meet by 8 points. However, the boys put up some great times and distances, yet it just wasn't enough to win. Kurt Forsyth had another great day winning the 100, 200 and 400, and placing 3rd in the long jump.
Sat 04/08 SUMMIT RELAYS Summit's track team had a strong showing at their home relays. Placing in 9 of the 14 possible events. Everybody on the team ran well and almost everyone went home with a medal. 
Tue 04/11 HanPk/Morris H H Summit ran well inspite of the weather, however due to the rain not all events were completed. This meet will be finished at a later date.
Thu 04/13 Dover H Won-It was a close meet, however with the winning of the high jump by John Melcon and the pole vault by Doug Williams Summit was victorious
Sat 04/15 Westfield Relays A It was a cold wet rainy day, with horrible track conditions. However in spite of the weather the throwers came through and a 5th place medal in the Team Shot Put, and a 4th place medal in the Team Javalin
Tue 04/18 W.Essex/Mendham WE Summit could have easily defeated both teams, however the lack of participants (only 9 were available) due to vacations left Summit understaffed. Summit defeated West Essex but lost to Mendham.  
Tue 04/25 Parsippany Hills H Summit easily defeated Parsippany Hills. Summit ran very well and everyone had all around good efforts..  
Tue 05/02 Par/Weequahic WEQ The absence of Kurt Forsyth really hurt Summit in the sprints, however Summit still managed to beat Weequahic, but lost to Parsippany. 
Thu 05/04 Union Relays A Summit had a good evening considering the competition. Summit mostly came in 7th and 8th for most events. However we were able to place 4th in pole vault, 5th in javelin, and 6th in shot put. 
Sat 5/6 Bernards Invitational Kurt Forsyth retained his crown in the 400M with a time of 49.2 sec. He finished 2.5 seconds ahead of the second place runner.
Mon 5/8  Minuteman Games Kurt Forsyth won the 400m with the state's fastest time of the year, 48.0 sec. Doug Williams won the pole vault at 11' 6" 
Wed/Thur 05/10-11 Iron Hills Conf (Women) Amanda Copperthite was 6th in the 100M ( 13.64), 6th in the 200M (28.38) and 4th in the Long Jump (14' 9 3/4"). Ashely Holmes finished 3rd in the shotput (31' 10 1/4") 3 inches short of first place and 3rd in the Discus (102' 6"). 
 Wed/Thur 05/10-11 Iron Hills Conf. (Men)  Kurt Forsyth 1st in the 200M (22.05) and 1st in the 400M (49.41). John Melcon was 5th in the 110M hurdles (16.26) and 4th in the High Jump (5' 6"). Summit was 5th in the 4X400M Relay (3:35.23). Doug Williams was 2nd in the Pole Vault (11' - 0").
Fri 05/12 Union/Boys A  
Wed 05/17  Union Women Summit finished 14th with 9 points. Freshman Ashley Holmes finished 3rd in the discus (107'-4") and 5th in the shotput (32'-0").  Amanda Copperthite placed 5th in the Long Jump (15'-3")
Thu 05/18 New Providence A  
Wed 05/24  Union County Men's Championship Summit finished 6th with 28 points. Kurt Forsyth finished 1st in the 400M with 48.7, and second in the 200M with 22.0. Doug Williams got 3rd in pole vault with 11'6, and Gerano Tan placed 4th in javalin with a throw of 158' 6. 
Fri/Sat 05/26-27 SECTIONALS Group 2

Summit Men placed 5th with 42 points. Kurt Forsyth won the 200M (22.3) ,400M (49.3), and Long Jump (20'-8 1/2"). John Melcon was 2nd in the High Jump (6'-0"). Doug Williams was 5th in the Pole Vault (11' 6") and Sean Kerr was 5th in the Shot Put ( 44' 11").

Summit Women placed 9th with 22 points. Sophomore Amanda Copperthite place 2nd 100M (12.9), 5th in the 200M (27.8) and 2nd in the Long Jump (15' 2"). Freshmen Ashley Holmes was 3rd in the Discus (103' 10").

Great efforts were put in by Jillian Dempsey (800M), Patricia Fairweather (shot put), Tory Morgen (800M), Sally Smith (3200M), Andrew Larson (3200M), Marquiss White (100M), Marvin (100M) and throwers Brian Stymack and Gerano Tan.

Fri 06/02 GROUP Finals Summit finished 6th in the State Group 2 Championship with 21 points. Kurt Forsyth won both the 200M (21.90) and 400M (48.51). John Melcon finished 6th in the High Jump (6' 2"). Kurt Forsyth's wins were the first Group Finals victorys in Summit's track history.
