Fri 12/03 Bayonne @ Bayonne  8:15PM Lost 3-2 Mike Nelson and David Haire scored a goal apiece, but Bayonne broke the 2-2 tie in the 3rd period.
Tue 12/07 Gov. Liv. (Cron Tourn.) @ Warinanco  8:30PM Won 11-1 Matt Starker and Jeff Garibaldi each scored twice and Keith Schroeder had 3 assists as Summit advanced to the 2nd round of the Cron Tournament. Dana Henderson had 9 saves. This is GL's 1st year to field a hockey team. The game was stopped under the 10 goal lead rule.
Mon 12/13 Westfield (Cron Tourn @ Warinanco 8:30PM Won 9-2 Matt Starker had the first Hat Trick of the season to lead Summit into the next round of the Cron Tournament.
Wed 12/15 St. Josephs(Cron Tourn.) @ Warinanco  8:30PM Lost 4-3 Aron Bell scored twice to give Summit a 3-2 lead going into the 3rd period. St. Joe's tied the game about 7 minutes into the 3rd. Then with only about a minute left St. Joe's scored the game winner off a power play.
Tue 12/21 St. John Vianney @ Warinanco  8:30PM Lost 3-1 After a scoreless 1st period St. John Vianney scored twice in the 2nd and once in the 3rd to take a 3-0 lead. Matt Starker scored Summit's only goal in the 3rd period. Summit was outshot 29 to 17. Dana Henderson has 26 saves.
Thu 12/23 Montclair @ Warinanco  3:30PM Won 3-2 Early in the 2nd period Jeff Garibaldi scored to give Summit a 1-0 lead, but Montclair came back to tie the score before the end of the period. Mike Nelson scored on a power play to regain the lead 2-1. But with only 39 sec. left, and Summit a man up, Montclair tied the game. Keith Schroeder won the following faceoff and passed to Sophomore Matt Starker who drove past a defender and fired a hard shot into the net for the victory.
Tue 12/28 Westfield @ Warinanco  8:30PM Won 5-2 David Haire, Mike Sartorius and Keith Schroeder each scored in the 1st period as Summit took a 3-0 lead. Schroeder scored twice more for his first hat trick of the season. Dan Henderson turned away 19 shots

Fri 01/07 Hun @ Iceland  5:15PM Won 4-1 Mike Sartorius and Aron bell each scored in the second period to help Summit gain a 2-1 lead. David Haire added two more goals in the 3rd period to ensure the victory.
Mon 01/10 Roxbury @ Warinanco  8:30PM Won 5-2 Mike Sartorius, Aron Bell, Matt Starker, Keith Schroeder and Eric Lupton each scored one goal apiece to give Summit the victory.
Tue 01/11 Toms River N. @ Warinanco  7:00PM Won 5-2 Summit fell behind 2-0 early but then scored 5 unanswered goals. Aron Bell got the first two goals that tied the score. Keith Schroeder scord the go ahead goal with about 7 minutes to go in the 2nd period. Jeff Garibaldi added 2 more goals to ensure the victory. Toms River N. is ranked 13th in the state.

Mon 01/17 Toms River N. @ Winding River  8:30PM Won 5-3 Matt Starker broke a 3-3 tie with 46 seconds left in the 2nd period. Mike Nelson picked up two goals. Keith Schroeder and Jim Hatfield were credited with assists in Starker goal.
Tue 01/18 Bayonne @ Warinanco  8:30PM Lost 7-3 Bayonne took advantage of a 3 goal 2nd period to take a 4-2 lead into the 3rd period. Bayonne scored 3 more in the 3rd period. Dave Haire had 2 of Summit's 3 goals. Bayonne's goalie turned away 20 Summit shots.
Fri 01/21 St. John Vianney @Wall Twsp  5:15PM Tied 4-4 Matt Starker and David Haire scored Summit's first two goals but Summit fell behind 4-2 after two periods. In the 3rd period Aron Bell and Starker each scored to gain the tie. This partially avenged an earlier loss to SJV, who is ranked 9th in the state.
Sun 01/23 Don Bosco @ Sport-O-Rama  6:15PM Won 3-2 Summit was trailing 2-1 with less than 5 minutes remaining when Keith Schroeder tied the game off assists from David Haire and Matt Starker. Then with only 38 seconds left David Haire scored the winning goal. Don Bosco is ranked 17th by the Star Ledger.

Tue 02/01 Clifton @ Warinanco  8:30PM Won 4 -1 Richard James made 17 saves while Jeff Garibaldi scored 2 goals. Keith Schroeder and Matt Starker each scored once.
Sat 02/05  Morris-Beard @ Warinanco  8:30PM Lost 7-5 The score was tied with only 2 1/2 minutes left in the gamebut M-B scored twice in those final 150 seconds . Earlier, Keith Schroeder and Jeff Garibaldi each scored twice to make the score 4-5. Freshman Eric Lupton provided the goal that made it a 5-5 game.
Tue 02/08 Bridgewater @ Warinanco  8:30PM Lost 9-6 Summit gave up 4 unanswered goals in the 3rd period lose a 6-5 lead.Keith Schroeder scored twice for Summit.
Wed 02/09 Westfield @ Warinanco  8:30PM Tie 3-3 Down 3-1 in the final period Keith Schroeder and David Haire each scored to salvage a tie.
Sat 02/12 Montclair @ Montclair  6:30PM Lost 6-0 Summit was outshot 45-18

Wed 02/23 St. John Vianney   Lost 7-1 Summit managed only one goal, by David Haire, and was out shot 26-20. This eliminated Summit from the League Championship Tournament 
Tue 02/29 Nutley  State T Won 4-1 Nutley tied the score 1-1 mid way through the 2nd period. Summit exploded for three goals in an interval of 93 seconds in the 3rd period to clinch the victory. The three goals were scored by Matt Starker, Jeff Garibaldi and Keith Schroeder. Summit outshot Nutley 40 to12. Aron Bell has 3 assists.
Thur 03/02  West Windsor State T Won 4-1 Jeff Garibaldi's 2nd goal broke a 1-1 tie in the second period. Aron Bell and Garibaldi each added goals to secure the victory. Garabaldi had 3 goals, for a "hat trick". Dana Henderson had 15 saves. Summit will play next Tuesday (@ Warinanco) against the winner of the Mendham-Paramus game.
 Tue 03/07 Paramus State T Won 4-3 Jeff Garibaldi scored with about 10 minutes left in the game to break a 3-3 tie and help Summit advance to the semi-finals against Brick. The game was tied 2-2 entering the final period. Summits first two goals were scored by Aron Bell and Keith Schroeder. Paramus scored early in the 3rd period to take the lead 3-2, but Keith Schroeder fired his second goal of the game less than 2 minutes later. Aron Bell had an assist and Matt Starker was credited with three assists.
 Sat 3/11 Brick  State T

Won 3-2 Summit defeated heavily favored Brick to advance to the Public School Championship game. Brick hadn't lost to a Public School in over five years. Summit took a 1-0 lead in the 1st period when Matt Tsiang took pass from Keith Schroeder and scored. At the beginning of the 2nd period Jeff Garibaldi scored twice, both goals coming off assists from David Haire. Suddenly Summit found itself holding a surprising 3-0 lead. Brick managed its first goal a few minutes later and the 2nd period ended with Summit ahead 3-1. Summit made maximum use of it shots as Brick outshot them 24-4 in the first two periods. Brick made it a 3-2 game at 4:26 of the period, but Dana Henderson turned away every Brick shot for the rest of the period to preserve the tremendous victory. Henderson finished with 32 saves against the powerful Brick offense that had averaged 10 goals per game in its first three tournament games.

Summit will meet the winner of the Ridgewood-Bayonne game for the Public School Championship on 3/18 at the Continental Arena.
