Middle School Girls Basketball Surges Late to Defeat Readington 27-17 in OT

The Middle School Girls Basketball team (1-0) kicked off their season at home on Wednesday December 1st against a tough Readington team.  Both teams played lock down defense through most of regulation time.  Readington took a 3 point lead quickly in OT on a drive to the rim, collected the foul, and converted the free throw. After two critical free throws made by Amanda Lustenberger and Emma Ryan, the Lady Hilltoppers sprung to life on field goals by Charlotte Yarnall and Mackenna Welsh.  Yarnall sealed the game, draining a 3-pointer with just under a minute left. Summit was led by Yarnall with 13 points and Welsh with 6 points. Ryan and Elsie Fosgate each scored 3 points and Lustenberger contributed 2 points.

The Summit Middle School Lady Hilltoppers next game is Thursday December 9th at Warren Middle School at 4:00pm. Their next home game is December 14th when they host Branchburg in the LCJSMS Main Gym at 4:00pm.
