Fri 12/03 345PMMiddletown South H (USA) Lost 6-3 Marshall Harden opened up the scoring for the Hilltoppers as he picked up a loose puck caused by the forechecking of Donnie Bogden. Summit forged a 2-0 lead on an Alex Tint goal set up by Colin Campbell and Jake Grabowski. In the second period, Middletown South answered with three goals and Tint tied the score with an unassisted goal. With the score tied 3-3 in the third period, Summit had a power play opportunity as a result of a 5 minute major on Middletown South. The Hilltoppers couldn't score and their opponent answered with three goals to hand Summit their first loss. Petey Britt had 25 saves in goal for the Hillltoppers. (reported by Rick Weber)
Mon 12/6TBACron Tournament vs Cranford A (War.) Lost 5-2 In the Cron Holiday Tournament, Cranford took a 2-0 lead in the first period. Alex Tint scored off a nice pass from Jake Grabowski and Colin Campbell to make it a 2-1 game. Cranford added two more goals and with the score 4-1, Donnie Bogden broke open down the right side and sent a pass to Jake Grabowski who scored to close the gap. However, Cranford added another goal to drop the Hilltoppers. Myles Weeks had 26 saves in goal for Summit. (reported by Rick Weber)
Fri 12/10 830PMToms River North H (USA) Lost 7-1 Playing without some key players as a result of injuries, the Hilltoppers fell behind 2-0 after one period and 5-0 after two periods. Summit fought back and played a good third period capped by Dan Weber winning a face off and beating the goalie for the lone score. Marshall Harden, normally a forward, played well on defense for the Hilltoppers. Petey Britt and Myles Weeks combined faced 38 shots on goal. (reported by Rick Weber)
Mon 12/13,14,15TBACron Tournament vs. Old Bridge A (War.) Lost 1-0 Summit lost a closely contested second round game in the Cron Tournament to Old Bridge. After a scoreless first period, Old Bridge scored the lone tally of the game late in the second period. The Hilltoppers fought back but couldn't convert any of the scoring opportunities in the third period. Old Bridge held off the Summit attack which produced many shots in the last 40 seconds of the game. Myles Weeks stopped 22 shots on goal, several of which were spectacular. (reported by Rick Weber)
Tue 12/21 830PMA L Johnson H Won 6-3 The Hilltoppers played a good first period only to find themselves trailing, 1-0 after the first period. Johnson added to their lead in the early second period putting Summit in a 2-0 hole. Early in the second period, Sam Kenyon started the comeback as he scored off a feed from Dan Weber and Marshall Harden. Jake Grabowski tied the score off a Will Sangree pass. Half way through the second period Scott Garibaldi scored the go ahead goal with assists by Eamon Troy and Harden. Grabowski scored off a Sam Evans feed for a 4-2 summit lead. Johnson closed the gap with a score and Garibaldi answered with two goals for the three goal "hat trick". Assisting Garibaldi were Grabowski, Rob Hillenbrand and Troy twice. Myles Weeks recorded 20 saves in net for the Hilltoppers. (reported by Rick Weber)
Tue 01/04 830PMVerona H Lost 6-2 Although Summit skated evenly with Verona, the Hilltoppers fell behind 2-0 at the end of the first period and 4-0 into the second period. Colin Campbell started the comeback when he converted off two great passes from Sam Kenyon and Jake Grabowski. Down 4-1 in the third period, Rob Hillenbrand took a feed from Marshall Harden and broke away to hit the net to bring Summit closer. Verona tallied twice more to down Summit. Fri 01/07 8PMBernards A (Bridgewater) Won 4-3 Summit fell behind in the opening seconds of the game as Bernards took a 1-0 lead. Marshall Harden tied the score by converting off an Alex Tint pass. The Hilltoppers fell behind once again until Jake Grabowski knotted the contest with an assist from Brian Smith. Grabowski scored again to make the score 3-2, with assists from Tint and Colin Campbell. Later in the second period Grabowski registered the hat trick, again assisted by his line mates Tint and Campbell. Bernards closed the gap in the third period, but the Hilltoppers held on for the victory. Myles Weeks recorded 23 saves in goal. (reported by Rick Weber)
Tue 01/11 830PMWestfield H Won 5-3 After a scoreless first period, Eamon Troy picked up a loose puck and scored to put Summit on top, 1-0. Colin Campbell scored off a rebound shot by Jake Grabowski for a 2-0 lead. Westfield answered to make the score 2-1, but shortly after Grabowski flipped a pass to Campbell, who put Summit up 3-1. Less than a minute later, Grabowski sent an almost identical pass to Campbell who converted for the "hat trick". Marshall Harden intercepted a pass and beat the Westfield defender and goalie to put the Hilltoppers up 5-1. Myles Weeks had 19 saves in goal. (reported by Rick Weber)
Fri 01/14 7PMClifton A (Floyd Hall) Lost 4-3 The Hilltoppers fell behind 1-0 only to fight back with an Eamon Troy snap shot goal. After falling behind again, Bryan Smith knotted the contest at 2-2. Once again Summit fell behind, then with 2 minutes remaining in the game, Bryan Smith tied the contest with his second goal of the game, Summit couldn't hold on as Clifton scored late in the game to defeat Summit. Sat 01/15 530PMChatham A (Twin Oaks) Lost 5-2 Summit fell behind 3-0 to a strong skating Chatham team. Alex Tint put the Hilltoppers on the board with assists from Colin Campbell and Jake Grabowski. Chatham answered to make the score 4-1, then Jake Grabowski forged his way to the net and beat the Chatham goaltender to make the score 4-2. Chatham scored the final goal to drop Summit. Tue 01/18 830PMWest Orange H Won 7-3 Scott Garibaldi put Summit on top in the first period followed by goals by Alex Tint, Marshall Harden, Conor Lyons. Jake Grabowski and Eamon Troy finished the scoring in the third period for the 7-3 victory. Petey Britt aided the Hilltoppers with a 23 save performance.  (reported by Rick Weber)

Wed 01/26 830PMWestfield A (War) Won 3-1. Summit fell behind 1-0 in the first period to a hot Westfield team. Four minutes into the second period, Alex Tint brought the puck through the neutral zone and fought off three Westfield defenders in an effort to get a shot on goal. His shot was stopped initially only to have Colin Campbell knock in the rebound. Later in the second, Campbell scored off a Tint pass to put Summit on top. In the third period, on a penalty kill, Sam Kenyon scored on a breakaway with Rob Hillenbrand and Conor Lyons assisting. Myles Weeks was stellar in goal with 27 saves, as he helped Summit hold onto the lead.  (reported by Rick Weber)
Sat 01/29 745PMWest Orange A (So. Mtn.) Won 5-1 Summit was down 1-0 before Marshall Harden connected with an assist from Alex Tint. The score remained tied into the third period, when Harden took control of the game by adding a snap shot goal, two wrist shot goals and a wrap around goal to give the Hilltoppers the win. Harden's five goals were assisted by Eamon Troy(4), Scott Garibaldi(3), and Bryan Smith(1). Pete Britt stonewalled West Orange in goal with 10 saves and Granger Jewett was solid on defense.  (reported by Rick Weber)
Tue 02/01 830PMNutley H Won 3-1 Summit started the game by outskating their opponent, but not able to capitalize on any scoring chances. Alex Tint opened up the scoring by converting off a Will Sangree pass to put the Hilltoppers on top 1-0. Eamon Troy deflected a shot past the goalie to open up a 2-0 lead. Nutley answered to close the gap but Marshall Harden scored on an unassisted wrist shot to secure the victory. Myles Weeks had 13 saves in net for Summit. (reported by Rick Weber)
Fri 02/04 7PMBayonne A (Bayonne) Lost 3-1 Bayonne scored in each period and held Summit to a single goal by Marshall Harden.

Summit needs to win all 3 of their next games to qualify foir the State Tournament 

Sat 02/05 415PMMadison A (Mennen) Won 3-1 Scott Garibaldi opened up the scoring for the Hilltoppers by taking a pass from Eamon Troy and Marshall Harden and scoring on a wrist shot. Harden pushed the puck forward to create a breakaway opportunity for Alex Tint who scored to make the score 2-0. Madison scored late in the third period only to be answered by Harden's empty net tally. Pete Britt stopped 26 shots in goal for Summit. (reported by Rick Weber)
Tue 02/08 830PMBernards H Won 2-0. The Hilltoppers forged a 1-0 lead on a Marshall Harden goal set up by Scott Garibaldi late in the second period. Harden connected for the clincher with an empty net goal late in the third period. Summit had 42 shots on goal. Wed 02/09 6PMA L Johnson A (War.) Won 7-3 Needing a victory to qualify for the State Playoffs, Brian Smith started the scoring with a low slap shot from the point. Marshall Harden connected off a Eamon Troy pass to make the score 2-0. Alex Tint scored a power play goal off assists from Rob Hillenbrand and Harden. Johnson answered to make the score 3-1 before Jason Bell knocked in a rebound for his first career goal with assists from Smith and Troy. Scott Garibaldi scored off passes from Troy and Harden to make the score 5-1. Johnson scored to make the score 5-2 after two periods. Harden scored his second goal of the game followed by another Johnson goal to bring the score to 6-3. Smith fired in a slap shot, his 2nd of the contest to close out the scoring at 7-3. Myles Weeks was sharp in goal for the Hilltoppers with 14 saves. (reported by Rick Weber)
Mon 02/14 6PM Verona @ S. Mtn. Lost 6-2. With a shortened bench due to injury and illness Summit fell behind 3-0 before Marshall Harden scored off passes from Eamon Troy and Scott Garibaldi to make the score 3-1. Verona added two more scores before Rob Hillenbrand won a face off and hit the net to bring the score to 5-2. Myles Weeks had 38 saves in goal, stopping Verona from point blank many times. Tue 02/15 830PMCranford H Won 6-2 Scott Garibaldi opened up the scoring for the Hilltoppers as he knocked in a rebound created by Marshall Harden and Sam Evans. Sam Kenyon made the score 2-0 as he forced a turnover and flipped a backhand shot past the Cranford goalie. Tim Feeley created a turnover and assisted Harden to make the score 3-0. In the second period, Harden converted a Kenyon pass before Cranford answered with 2 scores to make the score 4-2. Garibaldi and Harden scored in the third period to secure the victory. Pete Britt preserved the victory in goal for the Hilltoppers with 19 saves, avenging an early season loss to Cranford. (reported by Rick Weber)
Fri 02/18 545PMRandolph A (Mennen) Lost 5-1 The Hilltoppers skated evenly in the first period against their fast, top ranked opponent and were behind by a 1-0 score. Randolph's speed and depth wore down Summit in the second period, while they boosted their lead to 3-0. In the third period Marshall Harden hit the net to put the Hilltoppers on the scoreboard before Randolph added two additional goals. Myles Weeks had 26 saves in goal. (reported by Rick Weber)
Tue 02/22 830PM Winner of Westfield/Bernards Lost 5-4 OT Marshall Harden scored after a face off by securing his own rebound twice to put Summit up in the first period. Westfield scored twice to take a 2-1 lead after two periods. Alex Tint tied the score with assists from Jason Bell and Jake Grabowski. Tint later scored a go ahead goal assisted by Grabowski. Westfield knotted the score in the third before, then with 2:00 remaining in the game, Harden calmly flipped a shot past the goaltender assisted by Scott Garibaldi and Rob Hillenbrand. The regulation time ended in a tie forcing a 15:00, sudden death overtime period. Summit clearly had the advantage for the first 5:00 of overtime, but Westfield capitalized to earn the victory. Bryan Smith had a tremendous effort on defense and Myles Weeks was sharp in goal. (reported by Rick Weber)
Thu 03/04 830PM Millburn 1st Round State Tournament@ Warinanco Won 4-1 Summit opened up the scoring as Alex Tint took a pass from Jake Grabowski and fired a low slapshot past the goalie for a 1-0 lead. Later in the first period a hustling Donnie Bogden flipped a pass to Sam Kenyon who converted for the 2-0 lead. In the second period Scott Garibaldi scored off assists from Marshall Harden and Eamon Troy and Tint slammed in a rebound from Jason Bell for a 4-0 Hilltopper lead. Conor Lyons helped preserve the lead on defense while Myles Weeks had 16 saves.
Mon 03/07 4PM Chatham, 2nd Round of State Tournament@ Mennen Lost 4-1 Summit looked to upset the #4 seed Chatham team as they skated evenly in the scoreless first period while being out shot 16-6. Chatham scored two quick goals in the second period and added two in the third before Alex Tint passed to Jake Grabowski who set up Jason Bell for a one time shot to make the score 4-1. Myles Weeks had 42 saves in goal.
