UCT Semi-Finals vs. Union Catholic |
This was a hard, well played match. Down 10-3 Summit fought back
to make it 13-11 before losing the 1st game 15-11. In the 2nd
game Summit took a 12-10 lead, but Union Catholic was able to
win the last 5 points and the match. |

Won 15-7, 15-9 The first game was a fairly easy win, but
the second was a different story. The lead changed back and forth
with Summit finally going up 9-8. After many side-outs Summit
scored 6 of the last 7 to win and advance to the 2nd round. |

Won 15-13, 4-15, 15-10. Anna Strelec had 10 kills and
four blocks, Meghan Hatfield totaled five kills and two aces
in the Group 2 quarterfinal contest. Summit next meets Westwood
(7th seed) in a semi-final match. |

Lost 15-10, 15-6 Westwood grabbed an 8-2 lead but Summit
rallied to make it 8-7 on Odette Nemes' serving. Unfortuantely,
Westwood scored 7 of the next nine to win game one. Dana Proper
started serving for Summit in the second game, and had the huge
crowd of SHS students screaming as Summit grabbed a 5-0 lead.
but again Westwood applied the heat and outscored Summit 15-1
to win the match. With the 2nd game at 5-9, Dana Proper
suffered a serious knee injury and missed the rest of the game. |
