The Hilltoppers traveled to Kean University on Saturday, November 20 for the Group 3 state championship. Going up against Cherry Hill West, the team hoped to end a 44 year title drought. The Summit offense struck early and often, racking up a 6-0 lead by halftime in front of a raucous, Santa-themed student section.
The Hilltoppers left no doubt – continuing to dictate the pace of play in the second half and scoring an additional two goals. The lone blemish on an otherwise clean sheet for the Summit defense was a penalty concded late in the second half. Final score: 8-1.
