The third-seeded Summit High School Boys Swim Team ended the week strong with a state sectional quarterfinal win against Mendham High School on Friday, Feb. 10. Summit’s relays were a highlight of the meet with the quartet of Jack Vargas, Ethan Kwon, Ryan Fox, and Devin Tapia placing second in the 200 Medley Relay with a time of 1:48.07. Capping the victory, Kwon, Fox, Will Moon, and Charlie Moon placed first in the 200 Free Relay with an impressive time of 1:33.66. Other swimmers that achieved first and second-place swims and contributed to the overall triumph for the Hilltoppers were Kyle Dripchak, Will Roselle, Matthew Erday, Jake Miller, and Etienne Mbuyi. The final score of the meet was 99-71. The Summit boys advance to the sectional semifinals to swim against Princeton on Tuesday, February 14, at Princeton.
After receiving two byes, the second-seeded Summit Girls Swim Team also swims on Tuesday, February 14 in the state sectional semifinals. The girls will face Montgomery at 3:30pm at the Summit YMCA.
