The Girls MS Basketball team hosted Bridgewater yesterday and came away victorious by a score of 45-30, improving their record to 3-1. The team jumped out to an early lead and never looked back. Emma Ryan (2027) got the scoring going in the first quarter off a nice feed from Charlotte Yarnall (2027), as the pair combined for 29 of the Hilltoppers 45 points. Ryan lead the way with 18, and Yarnall added 5 assists and 4 rebounds to her 11 points.
Coach Welsh was working with a short bench again, as injuries to Kate Shin (2028), Emma Easton (2027), and Emma Gingeleski (2027) and illness (Deirdre Keenan, 2027 and Anya Gokhale, 2028) affected the lineup.
Those that were able to play were more than steady and solid defensively, enabling the team to build some momentum heading into the Wednesday (12/21) afternoon matchup vs. Franklin, the team that eliminated them in the playoffs last year. Tip off is 4pm in the LCJSMS Main Gym.
