Summit traveled to Scotch Plains down two of their top returning players: Myles Blackley (COVID) and Brett Colon (fever).
SPF jumped out to a big lead early, reminescent of the last time the Hilltoppers traveled to Scotch Plains. A bucket by Wes Hellings in the final minute narrowly avoided a shutout – ending 12-2.
Summit’s offense woke up in the second quarter, but the Raiders added 13 more to their lead – halftime score 34-11.
Credit to Coach Simo’s squad – they never stopped fighting. The Hilltoppers won both the 3rd and 4th quarters, but weren’t able to claw back from the early deficit. Final score: 55-41 Raiders.
