The boys and girls cross country programs excelled Saturday at two different sites.
The girls program and freshmen boys stayed local at competed at the Magee Class meet in Clark.
Senior Lara Cota won the senior race and continued the impressive performances from the past spring season, establishing a new school and course record on the Oak Ridge 5k course. Her time of 18:23 is a :30 improvement from her previous best on the course and betters the previous course record by six seconds.
Other impressive girls performances were turned in by Junior Nora Shields, who finished 3rd in the junior class race at 19:53, a 1:58 improvement.
Sophomore Cameron Valdes ran 19:59 to finish second in the sophomore race.
The freshmen boys finished second overall as a team, competing in a field of over 30 schools and 238 runners.

The Varsity and JV boys experienced success as well travelling to beautiful Bowdoin Park in Wappingers Falls, NY to compete against some of the strongest teams in the Northeast.
The Varsity finished 3rd in their race and the JV 4th overall. It was the first time since 2018 that team ran on the hilly and challenging 5k course. Place, top times and improvements are as follows:
