After going undefeated in pre-season scrimmages, the Summit High School Varsity Field Hockey team has commenced the regular season and are off to a great start.
Three games have been played so far. The first was a hard fought, tight game against ALJ which went to overtime but ended 0-0. The second, at Milburn, was a 2-0 victory with goals scored by Maddie MacPherson and Norah Degen (with assists from Darcey Chapman and Jessie Penner).
On Wednesday 9/15, Summit played Montclair Kimberley at home. In an end to end game Summit emerged victorious with the only goal being scored in the 1st quarter. Darcey Chapman sent in a shot from a corner which was deflected into the goal by Maddie MacPherson. Goalie Caroline Sanyour had a stand out game making 9 saves.
The next games are Friday 9/17 at 4pm away against Ridge then Saturday at 11.30am away against Newark Academy.
