Hilltoppers down Chatham, 9-6

It was a beautiful, sunny Saturday for lacrosse and Summit Lacrosse’s 50th anniversary celebration! It brought out a great crowd to check out this neighboring town clash. Chatham’s had a slow start this season – but you have to throw out the record books when these teams get together!

Summit rattled off 5 straight in the first and the game felt like it would be a runaway. But the Cougars didn’t throw in the towel – rallying back with two of their own. Two straight from Dylan Sebastian, both assisted by John Murray, made it 7-2 and the lead was back to 5.

Chatham kept hanging around, closing the gap to 7-3 by halftime and getting one early in the 3rd to narrow the margin to 7-4. The Hilltoppers never let them get closer. Goals by Sebastian and John Murray made it 9-4 to close the 3rd.

The Cougars rattled off two in quick succession around the midpoint of the 4th to make it 9-6, but the Hilltopper defense closed the door. Final: 9-6.
